Winter Maintenance & Storage Guide for Pool Cleaning Robot Batteries

During winter pool closures, improper storage can lead to battery depletion, swelling, or capacity loss. Proper specialized maintenance is key to extending your machine's lifespan.

1. Adjust to the "Golden Charge Level"

  • Lithium batteries are sensitive to both full and zero charge. Long-term full charge can cause swelling, while total depletion may lead to permanent damage.

  • It is recommended to maintain a charge level between 50% and 70% for storage.

2. Power Off & Dry Thoroughly

  • Ensure the power switch is turned off before storage to prevent power leakage.

  • Make sure the unit is completely dry, but avoid using high-temperature heat guns or blowers, which can damage the casing or internal components.

3. Optimize the Storage Environment

  • Batteries are highly sensitive to temperature. The ideal storage environment is a dry, ventilated indoor area between 5°C and 25°C.

  • Strictly avoid sub-zero temperatures or direct sun exposure.

4. Regular Maintenance During Off-Season

  • Check the battery level every 2–3 months.

  • If the charge drops below 30%, recharge it back to the stable 50%–70% range.

Conclusion

  • Before the first use next spring, fully charge the battery before running a test. Standardized winter maintenance ensures your robot stays durable for years to come.
